Get a new Repro small quilt kit, following the patterns by Pam Buda, with fabric selected by our award-winning repro quilt girl, Carol Blackmer. The projects are shipped to you FREE each month for 7 months. Carol will send along a history Journal entry of the Prairie Women’s journeys.

The art of quilting is rich in history. There are women, in untold numbers, who blazed the trail before us, leaving us with quilts and remnants of both fabrics and stories of how they lived, and what quilts meant to them. While the techniques of quilting for today’s quilter can be very different from those of yesteryear, why we quilt and what quilting means to us is very much the same.

We make quilts for basic warmth on the bed in which we sleep, for family and friends, to mark special occasions, perhaps to raise money for a cause dear to our hearts, or for the pure joy of it. Like our quilting ancestors, we come together as women in kindred spirit to sew and share, and to tell of our lives, giving support to one another.

Each of the five PWSC Journey pattern packets includes six quilt patterns (one lap-size quilt and five small/doll-size quilts) along with six different, wonderful stories of what daily life was like for ordinary "Prairie Women".  They also have one bonus project in each Journey.

Prairie Women's Sewing Circle was an active club from 2009 to 2017.  Over 500 quilt shops in the United States, and many overseas, had very active clubs throughout the years.  While there are no active clubs in quilt shops anymore, you can certainly enjoy all of the stories of life in the 1800s, and all of the quilt patterns in your own home.

If you love quilt history and want to learn more about what life was like in the nineteenth century, and about “Make-do” quilts, you will definitely enjoy experiencing the Prairie Women’s Sewing Circle and …
