Come join Tara and create your Lucy Boston quilt. This heirloom quilt, known as Lucy Boston Patchwork Of The Crosses, was held at the shop several years ago and was one of our most popular clubs to date.
This is a quilt for fabric lovers! The pattern for this lovely patchwork was prepared with the gracious assistance of Diana Boston and is illustrated with photographs by Julia Hedgecoe. It includes instructions for sewing the patchwork by hand with traditional methods. It can also be stitched by hand or machine. The Club fee includes our exclusive Fabric Share, a selection of fabrics that are perfect for this project.
This quilt has been created and recreated by countless quilters throughout the years, and is one of the top 10 most famous patchwork quilts in the world. It uses the lovely 1” honeycomb to create square-shaped blocks, beginning with a cross in the middle of each block and radiating out for an additional 3 rounds.
Supplies: hand-sewing needles, quilting thread (cotton 50 weight is recommended), small scissors,
glue-basting pen, technical pencil
Requirements: Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses book, Templates or EPP pre-cut papers.
